anyone know how hard it'd be to drop a 3100 into a car that wasn't made to have it? (loaded question, I know - keep reading anyhow)
I'm talkin' about the N-body's here, my girlfriend has an Olds Achieva with the SOHC q-4 engine (115hp) and we were thinking about either a w-41 swap, or the 3100 swap - if we go for the 3100 swap, we'll use the 95 electronics, so we can get the GM 1.5 diagnostics, and make use of an automatic trans, if we go with the w-41 swap, we're gonna have to stick with a modified automatic to raise the shift points, or swap to a manual - and she doesn't want a manual trans at all, OR, we'll have to use the non-w-41 computer (the W-40 180 hp computer) with the 4t60E and have a custom chip made for the engine (maybe Ben could help ... I dunno if you can rip chips and combine informtion and such... perhaps that's more like after we decide what we're gonna do)
Anyhow, I know the 95 N-bodies are made to take the 3100, but with the 95 engine cradle bolt into a 92 N-body - I guess that'd be the first place to start figuring things out...
