  • flex plate to starter help

    got 2 flex plates a 162 an a 153 need to use the 153 in my jeep cherokee lost the 2.8 an installed a 3.1 motor.will the starter fit the 153 from the 162 or do they make a different starter head to bolt on thanks

    What numbers are you refering too? Are these teeth counts? The only difference I have ever herd about are internal and external. Some Flywheels differ in shape but that is bacause of clutch setup.

          there a inch difference in the size outside

            Well if you need to ise the 153 plate then you need to use the 2.8L starter from the jeep.

              ok thanks i've got three starters none take up the 1/2 inch i need to make up the difference
