any advice for removing my crank pulley? i tried it but it just seems to want to rotate the crank backwards. the engine/tranny is out of the car and the tranny doesn't seem to lock in park either. only thing i can think of is remove one of the tq converter bolts and put a long bolt in there to catch the block.

impact Otherwise, have a friend get under the car and remove the cover so you can get a screwdriver in the flexplate teeth that the starter uses.

Yup impact the bolt off and then get your puller out.

A word of advice from personnel experience. When using the impact gun, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you are using the right size socket, and USE ONLY 6 POINT sockets. I used the rigth size, but a 12pt socket, and it stripped out like 2 of the 4 bolts. I was pissed, and it took me so fucking long to get them out.

i have a 1/2 in drive impact gun, but it didn't do anything. i ended up stickink a screwdriver in one of the small holes in the flex plate while some1 else broke it loose.

Dude thats a weak gun or a seized bolt.

I have never had a gun that would not break a bolt loose or rip the head off. Even on my VW the flywheel bolt is torqued to 250LBS and the impact has no sweat taking it off.
