you have to be kidding me... a Cam is More than a stick with bumps on it. it is very complex...

you cannot use a Hydraulic lifter with a Solid lifter cam. and same with the reverse. the lobes are ground so much differently for each style of lifter. the ramp profile and rate, adv duration/.050 duration are all different from a solid to a roller...

again, you must be joking. the lifters get broken in and worn to each individual lobe on the cam. if you mix 2 of them up, those lobes go flat. and if you put used lifters in with a new cam, you can kiss that cam goodby within 50 miles. every lobe would be a circle.

Colin of course I know that a cam is more complex than that. But the point I was trying to make is if you buy a roller cam from the aftermarket and tell them it will be used on a hyd setup then they will have no problem making on for you. I do know that you cannot stick solid lifters on a hyd cam and vise versa. But you can take hydraulic lifters and put them on any hydraulic lifter cam (being engine specific of course). So in that sense it is not that complex. I am very aware at how refined cam grinding is. I know all abour rates and ramps. Remember my bad Crane cam. That would be classified as a "bad" ramp LOL

Sharkey you do not need to put new roller lifter in if you change cams. Flat tappet yes but not roller.

yeah ill have to agree on the full 3400
all you have to do is just put the 3400 in th ecar and chuck all your sensors from your car in the appropriate places on the 3400
and it is better to keep the obd1 anyway you can change more things that way
and as for cams you could put a 3.1 performance cam in and just use the flat tappet lifters or get a all new custom roller cam made
