www.killerbv6.com offers a bellhousing and flywheel/clutch setup for the 3*00 series engines to bolt to either a ford or chevy T5. The 3400 had manual applications from the factory and the DOHC did not. Is the crank (at the flywheel) the same configuration for all 60 degree v6's. I am hoping that his setup that he sells for converting the 3100/3400 motors to RWD will bolt up to the DOHC, since the bellhousing is the same. A 215hp DOHC bolted to a T5 5 speed O/D with 4:11 rear gears in a '68 spitfire is gonna be sweet, eh? I guess what I'm asking is if the 3400 manual flywheel will bolt to tha DOHC? Thanks for any help, Quintin. :P

Neither engine was used in a RWD application either
But in anycase you could take a T5 off the back of any S-10 or Camaro along with its clutch and flywheel and bolt it onto any 660 motor. No need for some fancy conversion crap.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

Was the T5 available behind any of the 2.8's in the 80's? I couldn't dare hope that any had a hydraulic clutch. According to my research, the chevy T5 had a .68to1 final gear, the ford can have a .5to1. For me, the higher the better. I'm hoping to get all the info I need to start selecting parts soon. I have the donor car for the engine coming in the next few weeks, a 91 GTP. Fitting that ENTIRE harness and ecm to a 1968 technology car is gonna be a nightmare! I assume I'll have to build a unique upper plenum for it, since the original sucks from the rear. It's definitely going to be an interesting winter project. If anyone has any tidbits of info they think I need to take into consideration, PLEASE,.......PLEASE,......let me know. Thanks for the info about the bellhousing and clutch, I certainly didn't know I could use factory parts, I was under the impression a special bellhousing was required to fit the DOHC to a T5. Quintin

Holy Smokes, What a shitpot full of info, I'll be scheming for weeks. Thanks Guys, That one thread is right. You deserve an award!!! I will lay out my options and come up with the exact match that I will pursue...........as soon as I digest all that stuff and figure which is best for my situation. My rear gear is 4.11 I'd really, really, really REALLY like that 0.50 fifth gear. ......Quintin
