  • #rd gen cav 3400. wich one?

I am putting a 3400 in my 3rd gen (2002).Manual tranny. I'd like to keep ac.....Which 3400 to use? Of course the most powerfull is the best. but what mounts in there with my tranny with relative ease?

all 3400's have the same power output. its all just GM's power ratings due to change's in exhaust piping, and PCM tuning.

there are no internal differences between the 3400's with 175hp and the others with 185hp. you'll be doing custom intake and exhaust setups anyways along with likely a custom ECU setup so none of this matters as per which has more HP. its all going to be the same either way.

you want a Nbody front engine mount setup however. the bellhousings all are the same and bolt up to the 2200 trans.

That is exactly waht i wanted a conformation on thanks. I'm using the tec-3 engine mannagement. As for exhaust do you think a 2.5 inc pipe off eachmanifold to and x pipe to ballance the flow then to two of the round magnaflow muffers?(the exhaust will come out at the end of each of the the side skirts)

2.5inch Dual is waaaaaay too big.

2.5inch single piping is optimum sizing from the rear manifold back.

if you split into duals 2inch duals.
