  • Temp Sensor Tap Size

    We did a 3400 swap on the motor and still have problems getting the temp gauge to work right...so I am just going to tap out the thermostat houseing and put the sensor in there for now, but I need to know the tap size...Can anyone help me with that...It is from a 90 beretta with the two wire sensor...Marc

    if anyone cares to know it is 14mm with 1.5 pitch...

      Dude. You are suposed to install a 3 wire snesor and wire up your temp guage and ecm to that. Then you dont have to hack up your manifold.

        And last time I checked the tap needed was a 3/8" NPT.

          LOL yea it is NPT it is not a straight thread thats for sure. And GM never uses metric pipe thread.

            the 14 is what I used and worked perfect...no standard sizes would work, just the metric...maybe I had a different sensor than the rest of you.

              I changed over to the 3-wire sensor on my Olds just for the sake of a more accurate reading.
