i was wondering if it was poss to use the tranny from the malibu in a w body 88 grandprix? if yes wut would i need to do it

Yea but where are you gonna get the electronics to run it? You would need to remove the old ECM and rewire the car for a PCM to control everything.

Not and easy swap. But I supose it is doable.

i suppose the harness wont just plug in to the old harnesses place and run in throughout the car. like say 1 from a 94 grandprix or 95 with the 3100 in it. will the harness plug in?.. i will run the wiring and mod some if i have tooo

If you could find a mechanical tranny and not an electronic one then the swap would be much easier.

Did they make a 4T60 (no "E") this tranny would be an easier swap if you are looking for a 4 speed auto.

just a side note here, the 4t60 was originaly called a 440t4. gm updated the name in the early 90s to 4t60, but it was the same tranny. a couple years later, they came out with the 4t60e (e is for electronic)
