There is some good info here - http://www.v6f-body.com/showthread.php?t=5719

There are a few different ways to go about it, most of it will depend on your application and what accessories you want to run.

      little update

      wiring sucks!

I wanted to control the trans with the GA pcm but after studying the wiring diagrams noticed that 4l60e has an extra solenoid over the 4t45e. So I am going to try controlling the trans with the factory ECM from the truck like every one dose when they swap from TBI to Carb!

Finally got it fired up last sunday night!

this week I will be doing more wiring, then exhaust/ cold side piping and maybe a test drive the week after!

i can't imagine the confusion you would deal with if you had to explain this to a C/K board.

I love the idea of a gen3 60v6 powering a truck(with boost, even better), but S/T is more of what I have in mind... I'm morbidly curious to see how this works out with a 1/2 ton.
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

I have posted this on one of the truck boards and a lot of those guys are on the fence, few say "if it was me I would have done a 3800sc". Most are interested in seeing a different swap being done and not just people talking about swaps that would be cool or could be done.

          Ford sells a 1/2 ton with a 2.8TT v6, why not have a 3.1T v6 in a Chevy!

getting closer to a road test, still have some wiring to do/ clean up and other small time consuming things.

got the exhaust pretty much finished for now. left the cat off for now until it gets tuned better, right now it is very rich!

Well I managed to finally put 100kms on it, on saturday! Just took it easy and kept it out of boost and under 3200rpm. Seems to move decent for a 3.1l v6 in a big truck! Lol

Going to get it through an e-test then swap the big injectors back in and work on the tuning. The solid mounts are not too bad for vibrations, probably still less than a diesel! The truck also handles better now too! Still have some work to do on it but the main thing is that I can drive it once again!

I would have had an update about a month ago but I had to swap the engine out, I think that with how rich it was running it washed down 2 cylinders. Gave it a Rev one night pulling it out of the shop then the engine stalled and would not start. I tried lots of things to get it running but nothing would work, finally I did a compression test and found that one and six had no compression. So now the truck has a stock 2002 Malibu 3100 with about 70,000kms on it. I also found out that the old 3100 would have failed anyway due to the camshaft bolt "self clearancing" on the timing cover. I have not read or seen any one else having the same issue...

well the 3100 has about 1500-2000 kms on it now in the truck, best fuel millage of 13.7L/100km so far over the winter (17.2mpg). I had a problem with the factory wastegate actuator from the 6.5 turbo not building any boost. found out that on the diesel it is controlled by a vacuum pump and the ecm (no spring in the actuator).

picked up a new actuator for a t3 turbo on ebay and made it work on my set up! sofar it makes 7psi on the gate and moves pretty good for a 3.1L pulling 5000lbs! I still have to swap the l67 injectors back in, the 3.4 dohc injectors are hitting around 115-120% duty cycle at 7psi.

I have been having problems with cracking flex plates, I am on my third one now... first I thought that it was a spacing issue between the converter and the flex plate so the second one I spaced it out a little so the it is not riding directly on the crank. after the second one broke I decided to put dowel pins in the adapter plate for the 4l60e to see if it may have fixed an alignment issue... If it breaks again I will look into a 93-94 3.4 camaro 4l60e to get rid of the adapter plate.

did manage to get through etest on the second try (lol) had to move the idle up from 650rpm to burn the extra hydro carbons!

The newest issue I am dealing with is the o2 sensor wiring because I have been using my '02 GAGT pcm for tuning and the o2 sensor is wired different than it is on the '99 harness. I will probably re-wire the o2 sensor to the pcm to save money unlocking another pcm.

I will try to get some more pics up soon and get some vids with gopro when the weather gets better!

Yeah, for some reason GM decided to use vacuum to control boost on an engine that doesn't create any vacuum...

If you're braking the flexplates the way you are it's due to the adapter plate flexing. A friend of mine's GF went through this in her Caprice, where an Olds 455 is bolted to a 4L80E. The first adaptor plate that was used was a 1/4" thick adapter, she went through two flex plates before a 5/16" or 3/8" adapter plate was acquired along with an aftermarket flexplate that is a little thicker and no more broken flexplates.

Well flex plate #3 seems to be holding up sofar.
I picked up a 4.3 with a 4l60e for cheep from another c1500, so I pulled the torque converter from it and put it in my truck. Drives much better now than before but it is only a 1600 stall. I think that a 2200-2600 stall would be ideal.

Still have to work on the tuning and a few other things but it is doing what I need it to right now. Hauled a truck full of stuff out to the swap meet on the weekend and managed to get 19.8 mpg / 11.9l/100km out of it!

Hope to be able to get ready to make some passes at the track by the end of june

This is cool. I have an extra 3X00 laying around I was thinking of swapping into my 2001 2.2 s10 later on.

truck has been working good, have been getting 11.5-12.5L/100km to a tank. Should do better once I get the lock up solenoid working. still need to work on the tune then I can turn it up a little!
