I have a 2005 3400 out of a Impala and I want to drop it into my 97 Monte that had a 3100. I've read and am using the guide however I am stuck on what to do about my EGR valve. My local GM dealer said the 97 3100 is a linear valve. The 05 3400 Impala is a digital valve. The EGR mounts horizontally on the 3400 and vertically on the 3100. Since I am using all of the 3100's wiring harness and computer, I need to figure something out here. What would happen if I used the digital version and the ECM is looking for a linear signal? Will it surge, idle rough, stall or just throw a code? Will it affect mileage and drive-ability? Is there a different upper intake manifold that I can use that will allow me to use the 3100 EGR valve and 3400 throttle body? I am stuck until I figure this out! Please help!!
Thanks.
