  • 3100/3400/3500 Engine management for Fiero

Hey everyone. I've got an '85 Fiero 2m4 and am looking to do a 3500 swap.

    A bit of background:
I originally had a '99 Monte LS that I swapped a 3400 into and turbo'd. That car was totaled. I managed to get a couple of parts back from it, sold some a while ago for cash to get me through not having a job for a month or two, but retained the ECU.

    SO! Here's my question:
The PCM's Service number is 16236757, Hardware number 16200870. Will this run an early 3500 (non-VVT, non-DoD) or should I just sell it and get a 3500 PCM and call it a day?

If that ECU ran the LA1 it will run the LX9. Nothing big in changes just that the LX9 doesn't have a low oil sensor
14.63@92.9 -Full LX9 with CAI, 65MM TB, 2.5in DP, Borla Cat-Back, Crappy tires, Quick tune (Dyno Soon)

You need an external crank trigger for a 3500 as well. The 3500 PCM can't be tuned.

would likely need to use the earlier DIS setup as well.
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

The lack of a low oil sensor won't tell the ECU to enter a limp mode or anything? Only swap I've ever done was an LA1 into a '99 Monte LS, so you'll have to bear with me on the newer stuff if my questions seem stupid, as I haven't been in the loop for... about 6 years now.

Does WOT-TECH still sell their 7x external crank trigger? And - when you say can't be tuned, do you mean not supported by HPTuners? Or do you mean the database section of onboard memory is read-only?

Earlier as in...? Any part #'s or an idea of what donor cars I could yoink one from?

Lastly - and this is probably a pipe dream (ahhah. hah. hah. No pun intended.), completely useless and an all-round terrible idea, but it's an idea, and I've got to ask. Long story short, in the future, I'd like to do a twin-turbo setup with two smaller turbos on this swap.* My thought was, rather than going with one large ceramic cat after the turbo, I could add a pair of pre-cat O2 sensors right off the manifolds, then a pair of the higher-quality metal substrate cats right off of that. Then up to the turbos, down to a crossover pipe, out to a resonator and muffler, then out the back of the car. This leads me to my question:

Does the 6757 PCM allow for input from two precat O2 sensors? Or am I going to have to build a sum circuit that will take the input from the two sensors and convert them to a single output that the PCM can successfully read?

*(GT25's, 60-trim or thereabouts. I don't have specifics yet, because this is still in the vapor stages. I want to get the engine in and running bone-stock first, then I'll worry about mods and forced induction later. Exhaust needs designed /now/ though, because I can't use the donor's exhaust.)
