  • Need help with engine options please :(

Hello everyone. I know there are a lot of really knowledgeable people here. This Site was a mainstay when I had my monte carlo. I'm in need of that help again. I have a 2005 Pontiac g6 and I'm almost positive that I'm gonna loose the bottom end at any moment. I have a 3500 and need to know what engines I can replace it with. I don't need to upgrade for more power but if it opens up more options I'm open to suggestions. Will be getting an engine used so the more options over vehicle doners the better. I just need an easy swap. I know it's an lx9 but that's it. Any and all help is immensely appreciated.

Considering how cheap you can get an LX9 vs a 3400 and you aren't upgrading for more power I would just get another LX9 from LKQ. Then you know for a fact it's compatible with your car without any finagling.

Exactly. It's an easy and cheap enough way.

Weird how much more problematic 3500s seem to be in their natural habitat... Zero complaints with mine. How many miles?

All depends on how proactive people are with maintenance...
