alright guys i need help, we are stumped as far as this car goes. we are doing oval dirt track racing, well we started lut with a 2.2 well we recently put the 3.1 with 5 speed. we converted from auto to manual. but when we have it in nutural it will rev up and hit the limiter. so we go to the track and we run it in second and when we come out of the turn it blublers and stuff like that. it only acts up when is under a load. any ideas? thanks for all the help everyone.

You might see 49 with the regulator unplugged from vacuum. 35 is as low as it should see. You shouldn't have a limiter until 6200 RPM. There is no park/neutral with a manaul. Could be the wrong chip?

i read that the fuel psi is supposed to be between 41 to 47 psi. im getting like 34 psi but we have the fuel pump in that i used on the 4 cyl 2.2 so if i put the 3.1 v6 one i got with that car would fix why its blubering like its not getting fuel. atleast everyone there was saying thats what it sounds like. so if i change the pumbs is that a good possiblity of my proble?

You are running 1 1/2 times more injectors with a pump meant for a 4 cylinder, so it's always a possibility, especially if you can't get the fuel pressure you are supposed to have. I would assume the 4 cylinder pump would at least keep up under low load and idle, but since your reading is low at idle with the hose off your pump might be shot, your filter plugged or your lines are too small in diameter. Personally I would start with the filter (cheapest and who knows the last time it was changed), then pump. I doubt the lines would be that different. Especially for the fuel needs for a gen 2.

the fuel lines are the same size and the filter is the same on the both cars. but i believe the issue in only the pump since the 4 cyl is still in the car trying to run the 6 cyl 3.1 i or my crew didnt think of this duing the swap. thanks for the info and support everyone. ill keep posted as i figure everything and any new probles out.

Unless it's actually going bad, the 4cyl pump should be fine to run that engine.

So, exactly what engine, trans and ECM are in this car?

the car was an automatic as a 4 cyl but we took everything out when we removed the 4 cyl engine that stoped running, including the 4 cyl engine the auto transmision the front suspentionss engine gradel sswireing harnes the 4 cyl computer and the gear sselect stuff in sside. we replaced it with the 3.1 engine naumual transmission wireing shifter suspension becuse it was easier to do it as one big shot with the engine and trans still together plus we put the 6 cyl suspension in it ass well as the computer that came with the car, all the 6 cyl stuff came out of the same car becuse we had the hole car to take it out of, sso we did not take parts from this one and that one its all one car.

the engine is the stock 3.1 out of a 94 cavalier. its a 5 speed tansmission, (we believe a saganaw) and the stock 3.1 ecm that came with that motor from factory. now my next thing is, can you tell what exactly your transmission iss from the vin number, the sticker on the transion is no where to be found. and i need to boost horsepower for coming off the turn, do you think i an gain horsepower with a chip from WOT-TECH?

It is a noticeable improvement on a good running engine. Doesn't change the powerband any, just gives more power everywhere.

That trans would be a NVG T550, the last variation on the Muncie/Getrag 282. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getrag_282_transmission

Glad you knew, I was gonna guess NV550, cause I couldn't think of the name. I knew it was a 282 at least:P
