  • 3400 swap, custom pushrods, and home made scrapers

Hello all, just about done rounding up parts for a new 3.1 bottom end to 3400 top end swap. Gonna need to size up custom length pushrods for the flat tappet lifters to new 3400 fulcrum rockers. Anybody use the comp cams or manton custom pushrod kits? Also there are no guide plates on the 3400 with new rockers do I need to clip the guide tabs on the new intake manifold gasket? Has anyone made their own crank scrapers? I have all sorts of aluminum and 14 guage strip metal lying around. Also I have read the 3400 has a windage tray, would it be worth my time to swap the oil pan from the 3400 and will it fit with a 3.1 reluctor ring? Finally I am confounded by all I have read concerning the egr's. I have everything from the 3400. Is there any way to make the new style egr work with my 1990 computer? If not what kind of an adater plate am I going to have to fabricate to put the old one back on. Short of not having a completely new 3.1 bottom end I think I should have just thrown the whole 3400 at the old beast! Thanks for any experience and replies regarding this situation. Jason
