  • Coolant Temp Sending Unit

I just did a engine swap from a 96 Cosica 3100 to a 95 Beretta Z26 3100.Car runs super but i have a ? Oil pressure gauge read 0,now is reading about half when running.so I would think that is ok now.the temp gauge reads beyond H all the time, except for yesterday,I looked down at the cluster and it was a little below normal, for like 10 seconds, then reverted back to beyond H.is this temp sending unit in fact bad? I tried to relieve pressure by just slightly loosening the Cap on the bottle,The Fan kicked on the other day for about 2 minutes but it was 100 degrees outside at the time.I know for a fact the engine is not running hot or overheating,Iv'e put over 200 miles on the car since the engine swap.

I have one of those handheld Digital Temp readers,I will take some readings when up to temp.

Also the 96 3100 only has 1 temp sensor with 3 wires,I put my 95 2 wire sensor in the thermostat housing, and the 95 temp sending unit in the rear block drain plug like was suggested.my old 3100 engine with the temp sending unit would go from beyond H to normal to beyond H to normal, just figured it was in fact air in the system.also did it alot more when I put the heat on.do I need to BURP it some more? TIA.
