Hi,has anyone ever heard of the exhaust downpipe making such a noise because of the pipe inside a pipe rattling, pulled my 3100 because it was knocking, had good oil pressure, idled perfectly, but knocked, picked up another 3100 and before install noticed the downpipe was loose inside itself,I could move the inside pipe inside the downpipe with my fingers.i even put a stethoscope in my ear before the pull and had it on the exhaust, and heard god awful banging going on,took it to a local shop and told him I could hear it banging in the exhaust, but he just said, yeah, exhaust becomes a echo chamber, can't go by that. I just wonder if I even needed to do a engine change at all.or if the engine i pulled is fine.anyone with anything,I am all ears.
