  • 1st post, have a LNJ 3.4, project suggestions

Great site guys, I've been looking through it all, awesome.

I picked up a T-boned equinox a year ago, body is totaled but everything works great, specailly the engine. The uni frame is pushed in bad and the b pillar is toast, body is not salvagable. I just dont know what to do with her. Since i live in alaska i've thought about using it as an offroader, moose buggy, but i just dont know where to start.
I see the 3400 has been used in fiero's lots, what are other good swaps for the engine?
Any ideas for a project would be great.

There are lots of things you can do with it. We convert 60V6 engines for use in MG's and other small RWD cars. A few years ago, I used the engine/transmission from a '95 Lumina in a three wheeler.

Where you will run into some problems is controlling the engine and/or transmission. Most of the newer ECMs won't work as a standalone. They require being connected to all of the other modules like the transmission control module or body control module to work. You could use an older ECM but will have to use an external crank trigger and DIS ignition since the LNJ does not have the 7x (6+1) trigger wheel on the crankshaft.

Cool pics, the 3 wheeler looks like parade material.
I'll do some research on the trigger setup so i have an idea what it is, (newbie here).
Its either going to fit into a doner or ill chop the body up and do a roll cage body like your 3 wheeler.
