  • 99 malibu again L82 to LG8

    Im still having issues with the swap... engine runs but has an upper end knock around 2k rpm and feels restricted for power... tried flushing the hell outta the engine and changing oil and adding rislone... I put the intake and injectors from the L82 on the LG8 due to egr difference, fuel pressure difference, and there seems to be an evap sensor behind the throttle body on the LG8 upper that my L82 didn't have, changed out the crank sensor and cam sensor and now am wondering if there is something i missed or something i changed that i shouldn't have any help would be great!!

    When I did the swap, I used the same evap setup that the l82 had.

    How does the engine idle?

      Engine idles perfectly... i swapped the intake (upper and lower) the injector rail, the crank and cam pos sensor from the l82 to lg8

        Valve covers are off.... rockers and push rods check okay... both front and rear... any other ideas?

          I can't think of anything. Is there a SES light?
