  • Newbie here - Another 3500 swap

I'm fairly new to being a member of this site. I just recently swapped a 3500 into my 3400 Grand Am. took about a week and she purrs like a kitten again. Ok more like a tiger with a cold. but thats only until I program the pcm for 28lb trailblazer injectors (which I purchased on ebay for $25 brand new, what a deal).

I've taken lots of pictures of parts and such if anyone is stumped about anything. I'm by far not a professional mechanic but I've spun alot of wrenches in my day.

So if anyone has any questions fire away, I'll do my best to help. This site has been alot of help to me.

oh and just a shoutout to WOT-TECH. I bought some gasket sets and some hardware from you. You guys rock! I had my stuff like 2-3 days after I ordered it. Unlike some other people not mentioning any names that I've been waiting over a month on and still haven't received.

    cheers

I would be really interested in knowing everything you had to do to make the swap possible. I have a 2000 Grand Am that has an unknown lower end issue in the 3400 and I am looking at doing a swap for a 3500. I am very much mechanically inclined and am very confident I can do the swap. I would just like to know everything that you had to buy and everything you had to modify in order to make the swap successful.

the only part I had to buy for the conversion explicitly was the timing ring setup from TCE automotive. All other parts were standard off the shelf replacement parts available from Autozone/Napa etc...
