New 2.8 cast iron head into 93 Pontiac 3.1 Van

I have a new 2.8 Chevy v6 . Will it work in a 93 Pontiac Trans Sport van?Motors look just alike : both cast iron heads , Ive heard the 3.1 is internally balanced and the 2.8 doesnt have a relucter wheel on the middle of crank so I guess it is externally balanced. Woul;d that make any difference? since the 2.8 came with its own balancer and flywheel. Will this setup bolt to the 3.1 converter and trans? Its a perfect van body and a $1700 2.8 . I bought the 2.8 from a guy that bought it for his s10 but it looks to be front-wheel drive( starter bolts to opposite side of engine than an s10. S10 tranny (8 bolted on but flywheel and torque converter didnt match up.
