Hey gang,
Have a '90 Grand Prix 3.1 liter with a blown motor. The engine I'm looking at is a '91 Grand Prix 3.4. Will the stock 4t60 trans mate up out of the '90? What about the wiring harnesses, ecu's, etc. From what I can tell they use the same engine cradles. What other items do I need to swap over?
I've read quite a ways through the forums and found one guy that looked like he was running the 3.1 ecm to make it work.
The next question I have is how much work is it to make the 3.1/3100 transmissions work with the 3.4 lq1? From what I can tell they are the same transmissions with different final drive ratios. We would like to use the 3.1/3100 transmissions in order to increase our holeshots.
