i wouldn't know, i remove the UV ones and solder in EEPROMs because i'm impatient.
supposedly, you could even erase them by letting them sit in the sun long enough, but again, never tried. i guess you could just run it for 5-10 minutes at a time, then do a blank check on the PROM and see how long it takes to erase all of it...
