Im currently trying to swap out the engine from my car. Car is a 93 chevy lumina with a 3.1L Multi port Fuel injected engine. I have never done an engine swap on a FWD before and and just getting frustrated. :s
So far I have the hood removed all of the hoses disconnected, throttle cables from the trottle body off, currently taking off the master cylinder to allow transaxel clearance.
So Im not sure what Im putting in the car yet, maybe another 3.1, but I will be searching out a car to use as a donor. I have a few questions regarding.
Because I will have to pull the trans with the engine, is there any issue with dropping in the trans from the donor car, or would the transaxel in say a grand prix with the same engine mount differently? or would it be the same.
also I was wondering what other engines would be drop in compatible with this car.
Also If anyone has some tips for pulling the engine that would be great the haynes manual reads like stereo instructions. and seems to contradict itself on what I have to do with the tranny when taking it out.
Thank you in advance.
