Hello to all. I just bought a 01 silhouette with a blown engine. I Went to the local yard and bought a engine from a 01 grand am with low miles. Now after reading about the engine I noticed that the grand am engine puts out 170 hp while in the silhouette the engine puts out 185. Is this gonna be a problem or is the 15 extra hp from the PCM's or are ther major difference internally.

It'll be with the PCM, exhaust, etc. Once you put the new engine in there, it should be right at where the old one was.

Great you were right bolted right up and runs great. Just a tad bit af piston slap when ice cold. Is it ok to run Mobile1 synthetic oil oil or any synthetic oil for that matter.Comment
