  • solved the 3 spd auto kickdown cable issue for 3x00 swap

This last weekend I did a 3400 into a 1990 Beretta Indy 3.1 auto (my 4th swap, my 1st in a pre 91 Beretta). Finally solved the kickdown cable problem and a bunch of other stuff that i didnt see in the swap guide from the domestic crew site (which is a very good guide I thought)

For the parts: I used 3100 parts from MANY various vehicles, days of trial and error and numerous trips to an expensive junkyard. This car has function cruise control as well. I am going to soon sell kits with everything needed for the swap. We didnt take any pics as of yet, there are still a few issues with the dipstick tube leaking, cooling fan and the chip. Things like a perfect fit lower radiator hose, and more were discovered.

The temp sensor was an issue as well, but that has been resolved. I went back and used the two wire sensor that was on the 3.1 and then just ran the gauge sensor wires back to the other front temp sensor and the gauge works fine.

I've already help install two 3rd gen motors with 3-speed autos... Kickdown cable wasn't an issue... used a throttle cable assembly from a Quad4 and modified it a little...

While we were doing the swap, there was no information stating how to run the kickdown cable. We assumed no one had fixed it since people were still talking about how to. but thanks for the information Cliff. Now I know its not the same.

for people interested in a swap kit, I will have most everything needed to swap a 660 into your car. The parts we found work flawlessly and need no modification. You will still need to purchase the jbp mount and chip separately.
This way you wont need to make 500 trips to the junkyard to install an engine.

        This will include:

throttle and kickdown cables, bracket and linkage (w/ or w/out cruise control) $20
coolant tubes for heater core (w/ or w/out tb cooler lines) $15
        cooling fan $15
3100 L/N rear exhaust manifold and down tube $20
extra nuts for the new mount (since they dont tap it or provide them) included with purchase
temp sensor and plug (to replace the two separate temp sensors) included with purchase
new radiator hoses -nomodification direct replacement
        $28
fuel lines from rail to quick connect line $10

        total $108
Mr. McGavin EGR adapter for 2000+ egr
        $75

Ups shipping $10 for 48 states. I am selling alot of these parts for alot less than you would have to pay at the junkyard, finding the cars and parts is half the battle to do this install.
You can buy each item separately or all for $90 minus the EGR adapter.

When I get everything together I will take photos of the parts i have.
