i know the whole swap thing thru and thru i have done it before. im going to get a full harness pcm n bcm and motor. and hardwire in my cluster. so i can keep the stock cluster setup.

and i believe the turbo x is a direct injection. not the cadillac 05-07 as it stated its a MPFI setup. my belief is it uses normal injectors but i do need to find out.

Direct injection would be sweet, but then you also have to swap out your fuel pump, and possibly lines as well. Maybe the big headache getting all of it and getting it working is why no one swaps them. I'm not knocking it, I think it's an interesting idea and would be a cool swap to see done but I won't be the one doing it unless I fall into a big pit of money some time soon.

well pump gota be switched anyhow and lines are no problem. i dnt care how long its guna take to fab anything. ive got a nice heated garage and in no rush to build it together. money isnt too big of a problem because i was going to fully build a different motor. so cost wise what i was going to spend on a build up basically covers the engine and parts im guna need. if it is a direct injection theres a guy on the fiero forums who jus swapped a new 2.0t out of a cobalt into his fiero im sure he can shoot me some info on that.

Good deal. Sounds cool. Just one thing to keep in mind while the build is going on....

I believe that engine has the GM global bolt pattern for the tranny which maybe the same as that found in the ECOTEC. It should also have VVT from what I recall on intake only. You will be swapping more than just the PCM and BCM, try radio, gauges and accelerator pedal because all of that stuff is tied in together on the newer cars and there is no telling what else you may need to make the PCM happy which will throw torque management and varying degrees of limp mode at you if it's not seeing all the signals it expects.

Research the LS4 swap (fwd V8 )on the Fiero forum to see what kind of problems they had to address which may be even more with the SAAB platform. There is to my knowledge a system available for stand alone 3.6 DOHC motors outside of their OE environment but can't say the same for the smaller motor which originated in the Caddi CTS I believe around 2003.

I kno about the pedal setup the cadillac engine uses the drive by wire. As for cluster I think I can get by that. When I turbod my friends 07 cobalt ls there was no tuning for it and once it hit 10 psi or 3/4 throttle it sent the car to engine power reduce mode. So we re pinned a ss ecu in it so I could use my hptuners on it. It kept throwing bcm codes and theft system so I just turned them off in the mil setup. And the car runs excellent now. I'm aware that both cars were the same type of car but the ecm didn't recognise the ls components and it seemed to still work. So that's the route I think (should) work.
