These are all stock photos of the 3500. So far pretty clean. It had a small coolant leak on the head though.
Nothing that would cause any issues though. Painting the engine tomorrow and going to get a Oldsmobile decal
from the junk yard for the UIM. Should look nicer than paint. I almost got all the scratches out of the valve covers.

Getting a blown 3400 tomorrow, that way I can keep driving the Alero until we're ready to put in the new engine.
Plus I need to get the HP tuner still. Going to pick that up on Saturday. Hopefully get it running Tuesday or Wend.
Get it aligned and update the shift points, get everything broke in and hope it keeps well.

I need to get a head gasket set. So far I haven't ran across a felpro set for the 3500.
So I'm thinking I'll probably get the Cosmetic set from wot-tech. Just looking for
feedback. The only downside is the added time for shipping. But I still need to get the
      tuner.

      Should I get this set?

      or mix it up

      Thanks!

Can the exhaust manifolds from the 3500 be used?
I can upload some pictures tomorrow of the two side-by-side.

          Thanks!

I did a quick test fit and using two front 3500 exhaust manifolds, and it looks like you would have to move the fans. If you want headers, let me know... I have 5 sets of S&S headers for the grand am/alero.

BTW: What Comp springs are those?

Where do you live?? I live in 55318. I was reading this thread and I have a 3500 I put in my 2000 grand am over a year ago. I also just put a supercharger on it.

I live in Saint Cloud. The shop that the swap is being done at is in Clear Lake.

I guess you live in Clear Lake too. I'm not sure where I got the 55318 from, but I meant 55319.

Did you use HP on your Grand AM? I got a unit and it's pretty neat. Haven't played with it much
yet but the cars not done yet.

I'd be curious to see the supercharger too. Maybe pick your brain on that. That's something I'd
like to do down the road some time.

First things first, I really want to do a LP conversion on the Alero. Not fairing too well cash wise
                    so it's a ways out.

I live in chaska, not too far away. I used a vortec supercharger running 8psi. I did the swap myself in a one car garage so if you have any questions I might be able to help out.

I'd be curious to know more about using the 3500 exhaust manifolds. My girlfriend has a 2005 G6 GT and the subframe is setup differently but if they did work I've noticed the headers are a lot cheaper, so it would be awesome if they could work but haven't researched it much

The motor is mostly together. Some tinkering to get all the sensors and misc parts right. I put together a youtube with some pictures
and the final look. I think it looks real nice.

Ended up using the 3400 exhaust manifolds. I would've liked to use headers but couldn't budget it. However I do have a set in clear lake with
                            that doesn't have any use.

That's pretty cool. I'd have loved to do this swap at home but the house I rent sucks! I can't even fit my 73' GMC in the garage. I hope to buy after my lease is up.

On another note, I have a set of 3500 and 3400 exhaust manifolds and two 3400 blocks to play with.
The old motor in my car will likely get rebuilt and used otherwise because it's a decent motor.
If you want a set of 3500 exhaust manifolds let me know.

Did you happen on a kit for the supercharger or fabricate it?

2005 Grand AM GT transmission has a different passenger side axle. So a few more days until the car is done.
