  • Front wheel 2.8 into my 2.8 84 camaro

So my camaros 2.8 is fucked, i have another car with a front wheel drive 2.8 in wonderful condition. so i'd like to take the good 2.8 and bolt that into my camaro.
I have read in other threads that the only issue is the starter is on the opposite side and you need to find a different bellhousing or re drill and tap the block on the other side.
I'm really afraid I'll do all this work and it wont go together for shit. does anybody have some input? is this a good idea???:

what's wrong with your old 2.8?

You are correct.. the mounting bosses are different, starter is on the wrong side and also the lack of room for a distributor, having to re-wire for DIS and assorted other problems.. it's really not worth the work for the end result.

your best bet is to grab a 3.4 from a 93-95 Camaro and bolt that in with your current intake setup. you'll gain a few HP and have alot less headaches.
