  • 3.4 dohc ina z24-need gauge/wiring har advice

    i found an 88 z24 5 speed as a very likely swap candidate in the next 2-3 days, currently the tech & speedo dont work (the rest does) & theres wiring issues because some idiot put a toggle switch on the alternator- but since that engine is coming out im not really sure how much thats going to matter.

    i intend to get ahold of a 91 or 92 5 speed ecm & use that, & my current engine is in a 94 so what all will i need to do there? im figuring i will probably need the whole 91/92 harness & etc.. which may be a real pain to find at a reasonable price.

    on the other hand getting an ms2 & building a harness would probably be not much more expensive & offer me a lot more options down the road, does anyone on here have a file i could use with megatune or such to get it running so i could start tuning it from there?

    please tell me what you guys think

    Uhm, just like all your other hairbrained threads, (no offence) you need to think about it before posting.

    Short answer, uhm. NO.

    the 3.4 TDC won't fit in a J body... Unless you knock out the radiator support, and firewall... lol

        im worried about the wiring, im not real worried about fitting it in there-so i assume this means if i put this thing together ill have the first non drag one of these?

          also what do you mean by i need to search-im not a member of bstuff forums so it wouldnt matter-& im not asking about the swap itself im asking about the wiring-switching from 94 to 91!

              you told me i need to stop posting & posted a link to a page showing how well the engine fits in the engine bay, but not addressing my 94 to 91/92 ecm issue...

              guilty conscience for what? i dont go around telling people to stop posting when they ask for help...

                from what i saw in the pics it cleared the firewall no problem-it just appears that something needed done about the engine hitting the radiator fan & i can figure something out for that.

                  look at the big picture here, nothing you ever say or ask about gets done so what's the point of providing you with information?

                    yea i did read the topic-whats your point? also it never gets done because 99% of the time i get people like you that basically tell me not to try it so if i respected your opinions why would i even continue? if you think that im just that much of a jerk & that im just talking to talk go ahead & look through my threads, nearly every one of them i have a respected 60* member telling me that i shouldnt go through with it, that its stupid, and/or that it wont work. im drawing the line here-i have the engine, im preparing to have the car, & im going to do what it takes to put it in just to spite those of you who want to shoot every one of my swap ideas down without giving me good proof as to why i shouldnt even attempt it. honestly i appreciate you showing me that thread because it showed me that this engine -will- fit, but that there is a good deal of modification & work required to make the radiator fan, brake booster, waterpump, and motor mount-fit.

                    if youd like to help me with this great, but if you want to tell me not to do it-save your time because im getting really sick of people feeding that to me nearly every time & then acting like im such a douche because i dont go through with what they/some other respected member/members-told me not to. i dont have the money to start projects that i cant finish, so im sorry if not starting every project that ive offered up/had shot down on here bothers you-but you're not paying for it so i dont really care-the day youd like to pay for my projects id be happy for u to give me crap about not completing them. i can see from the pictures that the engine fits, i have plenty of time to complete the project & if it was meant to be really easy it wouldnt be as kickass as a convertible 5 speed lq1 cav will be.

                    if youd like to help me please do! if not-then dont-but dont run me down for it-you're not helping anyone by doing so & just wasting your time. by all means if youd like to offer me up solid evidence that this engine absolutely wont fit without removing my firewall-then im going through with it (granted this person with the z that says they are positive they want to trade me-& doesnt stiff me like the dick with the rx7 did).
