need info for a potential project

ok heres the deal i have the 93 gt with the built 3.1 but its an auto
i know someone that has a 94 with a 2.2 and its a 5 speed
now i had the idea of switching the engines from one car to the other
i have an idea of what would need to be done but i would like some advice and info from any of you that know your stuff
any info would be helpfull

That base 2.2 probably has the isuzu tranny and any hard abuse will kill that tranny. Go for the 282 tranny....... I've blown up one of those isuzu trannys in an old 2.5 pontiac that had minor work done with a real good clutch.....
