FWD 2.8 vs 3.1

is it true that the whole top end of a 3.1 will bolt on to a 2.8 (2nd Gen.) like heads, intake etc. if thats true is it basically a plug and play or will new wiring be needed?

It will be a direct fit. As a matter of fact I just got a $300 long block crate engine, a 2.8 to replace the 3.1 in a car I bought with bad bearings.

the only difference between the FWD Gen2 2.8 and 3.1 is the crank and pistons. The top end is basically identical.
