i just got myself a 93 lemans & noticed how light it is & how awesome itd be even with the mildest of engine swaps (at the weight, i could even swap in a 2200 with cai & exhaust mods & hang with z34's no prob)-what im VERY interested in doing is putting either my 90 3.1 aluminum head engine in it, or getting ahold of a 3100 to put in it (out of a 90's)-my question to you guys is will the trans bolt up? andif so do any of u know the codes for the transmissions they put in those so i can see if the bolt pattern will match up or not. ive considered putting in a quad-4, but those things are known for being very unreliable & id like to have something with loads of tq thats easy to work on/get parts for. i just figure dumping in a motor that (With headers/cai/exhaust) has 200+ ft lbs & around 180 hp (with those mods) if i ended up with a car that weighs 2300lbs (it weighs around 2150 right now-but i figure with some trimming here & there & the much larger motor-i shouldnt be over 2300 or so-what do you guys think?)-then id have a great gas mileage sleeper that would take a stock 350 'maro-and have more tq then id know what to do with.
