my buddy has a 2004 cavalier with the ecotec 4 cylinder & a 5 speed trans & he wants to swap in a 3.4 dohc, 3500, or a 3.9 vvt in but keep the 5 speed-will any of these engines bolt up to his trans or will he need a dif one-also how hard the motor/trans mounts be to fab up or are there any he could get that would bolt right up?

I would just build up the ecotech motor, and call it a day. You can order everything you need to make that engine into a 1200hp beast if you so desired. What are his reasons for wanting to go v6? Don't get me wrong I love v6, but the ecotech can be built respectible and sound awesome.98 camaro swapping in lz9 th400 setup

4.0L(after bore 3.917 and stroke 3.3485),carrillo sbc rods(narrowed),wiseco custom forged pistons 8.5:1 CR, TCE Double Roller timing chain, gen 3 cam, P&P heads, headers 1 3/4 primaries into 3-1 collector, and going to run ms2.
