question about top swap for L82

so for now... i think ive decided to go with a 3100 botoom end with a 3400 top end on it. I have readily resources for the parts...but what all do i need to do the top swap?? what exact parts are needed? what other things should i replace while the top end is ripped out? Are the any sensors, harnesses, or anything that needs to be fabbed up or switched over?? Sorry for sounding like a 'tard' about it, but im just trying to get a good know-how for what parts will be needed to sucessfully do this. Personal question also....is this a good set up? or should i just go and find a full 3400 and swap that in instead? thanks alot guys

If you use your stock injectors off the 3100, then its as simple as swapping parts. Are you using 3400 heads as well or 3400 heads? The following link will have some info on why the 3400 heads should be used if you want the best performance.

There is nothing wrong with updating your 3100 to be like a 2000+ version (minus injectors for the ease of swap/tuning). If you went with a complete 3400, then you could opt for 3500 top end now or down the road.
