  • 3.4LDOHC into a 80's G body

Anyone got links for a 3.4L DOHC into an 80's model G-body? Curious about this swap.

    How about an LS1?

Unless you have a FREE engine right in front of your face, I personally think it would be more trouble than it's worth for the end results.

And either way you would probably have to use an F-body transmission anyways. Half way there. Might as well just slap it with it with an engine a G-body deserves.

Wow, an LS1 swap. How unique:P

I wouldn't swap a 3.4 DOHC into one either but it would be interesting. I am not aware of anyone doing this before to show you though.

That would probably get my vote as well. The block is already set up for a RWD application, and you get that awesome flow characteristics of the newer aluminum top ends. I'm not dogging the LQ1, I still love it and think it's an awesome engine (I own 2 1/3).

You know that would be a cool swap. From what I understand these motors are capable of 350 horsepower when new. the computer calibration castrated them for warranty reasons and the fact that at the time no FWD transmission was capable of handling the output, but guess what? The th700-r4 can. But then, starter location becomes an issue. If there is a way around that, and said you run a custom engine management ...THEN turbocharge it..One hell of a unique car.
