  • 3.1 V6 multiport issues?

I've got a dune buggy with a 3.1 V6 out of a beretta. Runs good until it warms up, and then it has a part throttle stutter. Wants to stumble and stall. I've tried spraying carb cleaner around to find the vacuum leak, and nothing. I found that when I turn the key back to the off position, I hear a shudder noise soming from the throttle body. I've traced it to this solonoid. Maybe it's the Idle solonoid that's my issue?

No, the IAC moves on key and and off normally. Are you running the stock computer for the beretta? Normally when it warms up, either a ground, fuel pump, or even the DIS module or coil packs can show their early signs of dying. It could be injectors too. Hard to say but lets start with what you have installed on the motor and what is controlling it.

I'm not the one who built this, but yes it's got the stock beretta computer. I cleaned the IAC motor, and it's not stuttering anymore. How do I check the
oxygen sensor? Can I check it with a multi meter? I also heard the computer #1227730 was recalled? Is this true, and where on the computer is the part #?

1227730's are in millions of cars, there has been no recall that i know of. Mine works great.. lol

you can check the o2 with a multimeter, check the voltage out with the car running at idle. It should be around 450mV. If it's way higher and the exhaust looks/smells ok then there might be an issue.

they're only like $12, don't get the Bosch ones.. go for the Delco (or whatever one GM recommends)

Which OBD scanner tool would I need to diagnose this issue? I've got a Harbor Freight near me, and they sell cheap ones. Would I need OBD 1, or OBD 2? Anyone know about how much it would cost?

              MFI engines should be OBD1.
