Your 98 uses a different EGR, injectors, and fuel pressure on the rail. Swap the rail/injectors and upper intake.

3400 (3.4) engine swap

I have a 98 chevy venture van that needed new engine I purchased one from a wrecking yard, had it installed and is not running right, when I checked another source I was told I could use an engine up to 2001 only if I changed the lower intake and fuel rail, the wrecking yard I purchased the engine from said the 2004 should work if I did the same thing to the 2004 engine, I did and it is doing the same thing(surging after it reaches around 1500 rpm's)can anyone help me out with this
