3.1L Hybrid

After a long debate i decided to drop the 3.4L DOHC swap idea, and decided to go along the lines of a 3100 or a 3400 Topend swap, what all would be needed for a topend swap and what gains could i get from the swap?

Car is a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix with the 3.1L MPFI engine
