  • thinking of a 3400 in my 77 celica

well my celica needs more torque, and a 5spd... the engine horrible but it runs decent and gets 15-19mpg with the 3spd auto.... i think the 3400 would make it a VERY fun car

so far its just a thought and it would happen after the fiero gets a 3400... if it happens

i do have a few questions i was hoping you guys could answer

trannys, what are my options? its rwd.. i was thinking maby a camaro 5spd or s10 5spd, maybe there the same idk

im not sure what i would do about the rear axle but im sure that wont be to hard to figure out, just gotta find something that i can get an LSD for, and the drive shaft shouldnt be to hard to get a custom one made

i was thinking it would be best to use the 7730 ecu and harness.

i have thought about the 4.3, but i know nothing about them other than its a 350 missing 2 cylinders.. and there tbi... seem under powered in a blazer...

the camaro and s10 both use the 4l60e trans, just diffrent gearing. you could keep the rear the same, just get the driveshaft modified to fit the trans you put in (lenght and u joints) almost any driveshaft shop should be able ot do that for you.
as for the 4.3, they are pretty good engines, just look at the blazer typhoon
(turbo'd 4.3) the 4l60e is electronic, and controlled by the ecu, i dont know much bout hte ecu options, so not sure if the one you were thinking about would run it.
(i may be wrong about some of this info, but im prettysure its all good lol)
