  • MGB 3.1 Hybrid Build & Question

    I thought I'd share the latest fun I've been having with my car. I'm doing a 3400 top end swap on my GEN 2 3.1. What you can't see in the pic is the Delta Cam 260 regrind. I should have it back on the road in a couple of weeks with some luck. The only disappointment is the lack of time to do a proper set of equal length headers. It will have to wait until the season ends it looks like.

    I have a decent set of GEN 3 valve covers but the mounting bolts/seals are missing. My beat up set has the bolts/seals but it's not obvious how to get them off without destroying them. Can someone shed some light on the trick of getting them off?

    you mean the studs? just jam two nuts together and spin them out.

    ...and get new gaskets if the old ones get wrecked, they're not that expensive...

      No these are the bolts that hold the valve covers to the head/manifold. I ended up pressing them out of the old valve cover. Thanks for the response.
