  • 3800 series II into fiero Questions!

Hey, I have a some questions I was hoping people would be kind enough to take time to answer. I have spent countless hours sifting through hundreds of posts on different sites/forums, If you have a specific link that you think would help I would appreciate it, but please don't just tell me to "search".

I bought a 3800 series 2 n/a engine from a 96 bonneville, engine and 4t60-e engine are still mated together. Computer I got was from a different vehicle, but was told it will work (its from a 96 Achieva). Wiring harness is still attached to engine, it is complete with alternator, starter, ac compressor etc.

    3800 series 2 is going into a 1984 fiero 2.5l automatic.

Here is what I know about doing the swap:
*Engine and transmission mounts need redone. Are there any mounts I can get that will work without fabricating them? Mounts off other years/makes/models that will bolt on? Not considering spending several hundred dollars on prefab mounts as an option.
*alternator needs relocated, can put it where power steering pump is.
*valve covers need switched so that oil filler cap will be on the correct side of engine, also allowing use of the gray 3800 series 2 cover. (very sexy!)
*coil pack needs relocated, will put it on firewall near where battery is.
*AC can be installed.Unsure of what condenser I can / must use. Bonneville, 2.5 fiero, 2.8l Fiero only?
*Thermostat filler tube needs to be modified? can I cut the one off my 2.5l and use it, or do I NEED one from a 2.8?
*Oil filter will need to be relocated with adapter Unsure what ones will work, but I do recall seeing posts on various ones.
*Axles will need to be made. I don't know offhand what combination is correct, but I seems like I need a piece from a manual fiero, lumina van, and a monte carlo.
*wiring needs redone, mating both computers together. Is this complete and accurate enough to use as a guideline? http://mickeyash.tripod.com/ Is there anything missing from this that I need to know?
*PCM needs flashed? This part is very confusing to me at the moment. I have called every shop within 100 miles of my home, nobody knows what I am talking about. Do I have to get this flashed? Any suggestions of people CURRENTLY doing this?
*Fuel Pump needs upgraded (I have the one from the bonneville to install into the fiero 2.5L tank. Not sure what it will take to get this in there just yet.)

How will this transmission operate? Do I have to get a special addon to make it work, or will the engine computer run this? I only know there is something about a 4k pulse signal, I don't understand the relevance of this yet.

ANY OTHER PERTINENT information to help me with this install would be greatly appreciated. WIRING AND PCM information would be great, as I think I am plenty capable of doing it, I just need the right information.

I don't think anyone will be able to help you here. You are really in the wrong forum for that engine. You might want to try Pennock's Fiero.

Your avatar, that's totally River Tam.

Damn fine TV series (Firefly) and movie (Serenity) by the way.
