alright im just about ready to put my engine in which is a 3400 out of a 2001 olds alero going into a 95 chevy beretta and i've been doing some searching but cant seem to find which sensors to use for the swap. do i use the 3400 crank sensors and cam sensor or the 3100's? i already got rid of the 3100 so im hoping the 3400 cam and crank sensors will work if not please let me know. this is the only thing keeping me from getting this engine in the car.

Sorry, been on a plane the last couple of hours, and they currently don't let you access the internet mid-flight...
Anyway, you normally want to match the sensors to the PCM. Therefore, you would want to use the 3100 sensors. But, if you are only asking about the cam and crank sensors, then using the 3400 sensors is just fine.-Brad-

thank you bszopi!!!!!! you just saved me alot of money i was getting ready to replace with 3100 sensors. i'll go ahead and do some more researching but i bet i'll have some questions like where to get that 3 wire temp sensor deal or the oil pressure sensor hook up since i got the older gauge cluster out of a gt which was a plug and play well i hope it plays but i'll keep you guys posted!

The only sensor that is different I believe is the knock sensor. For a full gauge cluster you'll need a long oil pressure sender that's variable for the gauge not the short dummy one.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

thanks Isaac i found out i can use the gt oil pressure sender from the car i got the cluster from but read something about drilling a hole in the 3400 block? and a 93 cavalier 4 cylinder i believe has the 3 wire CTS.
still a little confused about being able to use the beretta fuel rail lines with the 3400 manifold not sure if it will clear cuz the 3400 lines are smashed! so all i have is the beretta lines to work with but i did buy some phenolic spacers hoping that raising the upper manifold will help the lines fit think it will? and anything else i should know or tips before putting the engine in? i have the tranny out to so i'll be putting them in together and avoiding the abs set up.

Whaaat drilling holes? Just use the sender from the car you got it from it will fit... just unscrew the old short style, and put in the long style.
3 wire CTS can be found on several cars, even 95 dodge neon LOL. The 3 wire connector can be found on lots of cars as the TPS connector and a few other connectors are the same.
96 cars had 3 wire CTS too.
The fuel rails etc are all the same. Will work just fine. Use the 3100 rails AND injectors and FPR. (put new o-rings on the injectors)sigpic New 2010 project (click image)
