The 3.4 will take the same trans. as a 2.8 rwd. There's an Edelbrock intake available for two or four bbl carbs but exspenive if bought new, Offenhauser made a 4bbl intake but no longer in production, could find used. Also there is a Weber downdraft 2 bbl setup that can be adapted to some stock manifolds.

The 200r4 from an S-10 2wd truck should do and you can find one with a 60degree 2.8
theres also a company that make a 2.8 motor mount kit for MG's that also sell headers that work

the s-10 and 3rd gen F-bodies use a 700r4 trans, pretty much 1982 and newer but try to get the newest one that you can. Try to get 88-to the early 90's, they are the strongest ones without having to deal with a the elecrtonics.

Yea I would use the 700 R4 too. It is very strong, common and cheep. The the 200 4R does have a nicer gear ratio setup for lighter vehicles but I bet you will pay more for it and to get one with a 60 degree pattern may be a challenge. I cannot think of any application that will fit a 60 degree v6.

i also say go with a 700r4. the small v6 units arent as strong as the larger v8 units, but all the v8 guts drop right into it. they are a 4 speed overdrive tranny with lockup, so you will be able to cruise and get good fuel mialage as well as have very good performance.

a 200-4r would be harder to find, basicly would have to find one from an early to mid 80s g-body with a 3.8l v6. another option would be a th200c, wich is a 3 speed with lockup. its a bit smaller than a 700r4, but would be hard to find.

But how would you bolt it to the 660? All the TH200-4R's used a dual pattern bellhousing which fit BOP and Chevy bolt patterns.

Sharkey, are you saying that some 3.8's had 2004r's with a 2.8 bolt pattern ? I'd like one because of the gear spread.

the 3800 have the 60 degree bellhousing bolt patern but the 3.8l still have the B.O.P. bolt patern. they didn't make a 200-4R with a 60 degree bellhousing. your really limited to 700-R4, 4L60, and 4L60E (which are the same thing with refinement differences in them) unless you want to cut off the bellhousing and go to J.W. performance and shell out a load of cash for a custom SFI approved bellhousing that bolts to the pump
