I'm not trying to put anything else in, I just need to know what will be a direct swap for it. As in I have a 3100 in my 95, will a 3100 from a 2000 malibu fit? If not, what cars can I pull it from? I origionally was just going to replace a broken cam, but we're looking at $600-700 in parts, so I figured I would just find a good used one. I never would of thought it would be that hard.

Holy crap! Besides myself, you are now the second person in the last few months who has had a cam break in a 95 3100 car. I too have a 95 Lumina, and it also broke a cam (right in the middle between the front and back three cylinders).
Anyhow.....like you, I took a look at what was out there, and went with the 3.4 DOHC engine. LOTS of grief from people here on the list....but it is a sweet little motor and unique
Anyhow.....
It is going to "drop" right in, as it came stock in the car in one version, but that soesn't mean it is taking me a LOT of work to make it happen. LOTS of little pieces that change between the two engines....from simple things like the heater hoses/routing, to power steering lines, to the exhaust downpipe, to even the transmission dipstick/tube. I also bit off the OBDII conversion, and am switching out the 95 wiring/PCM to a 97 version so I can tune it later. SInce I swapped the wiring to a 97, I also had to change the trans to a 4T65E from the 4T60E.
As far as easy drop in.....replace the current 3100 with a later version of it of the 3400. You may have to play with the EGR....but you can get around that by using your old 3100 intake.
Have fun!
