you have to drop the AC compressor (there is 2 bolts under it).
I think I have a pic somewhere. I will try to dig it up.

Here you go. If you drop the AC compressor, there is a single bolt under there, or something like that.

thanks alot thats exactly what i needed. thanks for the fast reply to. I was at an autowreckers and found a complete 3400 face down on the ground, and they said i could strip it I got everything off last night but that one head bolt under the mount and i couldnt see what held that mount on cause it was dark and the motor was face down frozen in the ground... today I pryed it up from the ground and got the heads off.
originally i was going to use 95 3100 heads but these will work alot better if they arent warped, the car did have oil water in the oil but everything looks ok. bottom end was probly junk... I'm sending the heads out to be checked next week
how often does that ruin heads? intake gaskets blew and put water in the oil.

water in the oil leads to snapped CAMSHAFTS. If there is any damage to the heads, it might be the VALVES. If the valves are open when the cam snaps, it might cause the piston to hit the valves bending them.
That happened to me, but it was NOT a stock engine. It was modified, so I don't know if it can do that to a stock engine, but one thing I have learned is that ANYTHING is possible with these engines.

The cam was fine, I was thinking of taking it, it was still in one piece and i have no bent valves that i can see, but that dosent mean there ok... as long as there not warped or cracked im happy, and if not I have $0 invested in them so its no loss.

Wish the wreckers here were like that. For a busted up engine like that if you took anything off it would be still be high dollar.

Well my girl friends dad was working it at the time and the owner wasnt around and it was about to be thrown in the scrap pile. but still even if I went through the owner i probly could have getten it all for around $150, there pretty cheap.
I got everything for my 5 speed swap there, tranny, driveshafts, pedals, shifter, cables clutch master, etc for $200
I just finnished pulling the tranny when i saw the 3400 sitting on the ground.
