Not sure I'd trust epoxy inside the motor. I'm too paranoid about it. The aluma weld is like that durafix stuff. I'd give it a shot first.

Looks like you got it ground deep enough on the other port. Just make sure it's tall enough to cover the rockers full motion. Bolt it on and test first though slowly turning the crank over with a ratchet (take out spark plugs so it doesn't build compression) and watching the movement and use an inspection mirror to verify enough clearance.

ok, i got the manifold thing worked out and am ready to move on to the throttle body.

this is the one i pulled from the junkyard. I got the cables too, but they look shorter than my original stuff. Question: is there any way to change the endpieces on the cables to fit different TB setups? Will i have to swap my old TPS and other sensors to the new TB?

What did you do with the manifold? Epoxy or?

What car did that TB come from? Can't really make it out well in that pic. The IAC and TPS can be left in the TB and just hooked up. If you get a good pic of the new and old TB's side by side at different angles that would help. You can swap the shafts with the linkage hookups between 3100/3400 TB's but not sure how your old one looks and if it would fit.

Hmm looking at the old pics in the thread your old TB attaches pretty weird to the cables. Not sure if the linkage shaft would fit in the new TB.

Did you get the TB cable bracket too that bolts to the upper intake for the new TB? The cables might be shorter but are they from the same style body car? They will work probably fine if they are.

man i used the epoxy. the hole wasnt big enough for te bother with welding.
I did get the tb cable bracket. I pulled the tb from a cutlass supreme. I'll try to get pics up later

ok, i dropped the lower manifold in place last night and put the valve covers back on. Q: am i supposed to get new manifold bolts? Somebody had mentioned that to me, but i'm not sure...

also will the newer style injectors work on my car? I have a set of the ones with the red rings on them from a minivan thats been sitting around. Might as well upgrade that too right?

If you clean the lower intake bolts off really well, and use medium (blue) thread locker you do not need new. New ones are just clean with pre-applied thread locker. You do not need thread locker for the upper bolts.

Only change injectors if you need them and can tune for them. Until you can tune (tunercat stuff) I'd leave the stock ones in. You aren't modifying the engine THAT much that you are maxing out the stock anytime soon.

ok, these are the TBs i have. My only real issue is the TPS sensors are way different. I need to figure this out quickly as I already have the manifolds back in the car and she needs to be running real soon. Is there one similar to the old sensor but built for the bigger TB?

You'll need to use the new TPS sensor as the old won't fit. Just get a wiring pigtail for the new connector and make sure the wires go in the right spots. Solder them and use heat shrink to cover the connections. If you need help figuring out where the wires go just ask and we will figure that out. If you need the connector I have a few that fit but are from other sensors on a vehicle, but work the same. I could send you one but you could probably get one quicker locally wondering through a junkyard really fast. snip snip.

Those throttle shafts are too different to swap between the throttle bodies so you'll have to do something with the linkage you got, and the cables you have. There are several style 3400/3100 linkage styles but none that are like your old. BTW what vehicle did that TB come off of?

that TB came from a cutlass supreme. Can i buy the pigtails at the parts store? I thin k i should be able to handle that part no problem.

I did run into a new issue... the power steering pump doesnt seem to fit anymore, WTF?

I don't know if parts stores sell the connectors like that. If you don't grab one for free at the junkyard and need one let me know I can send you one.

WTF about the PS pump... Pics? It should be just like all the rest of the gen3 pumps... What is it binding on?? (tip, take the black protective cap off the fuel pressure rail shrader valve and the pump goes in a lot better. That always hangs me up until I remember that.)

Surely they didn't use a different pump too.. Pics?

EDIT: From your picture here it seems you should not have a problem. Try my trick above.

this is the problem with the PS pump. looks kinda crazy right?

My EGR adapter came in today so im gonna make that work tonight. I'll prolly hit the junkyard tomorrow for the TPS plug. Definitely need to know the wiring on that...

I'll fit. You just have to angle and push and rotate and spin, etc... I'll work, it can just be a pain some time. I know I've had to mess with the fluid lines some to get mine to go back in before.

if you loosen the metal line that goes into the bottom, it will allow it to twist just enough to fit in. That is how I do it with my 3100
