94-95 drop right in, 96-99 use a different plenum/EGR setup but thats just an adapter to use them. 00-04 are different again. Brad, are you sure the cam sensors are compatible? I know you were looking into them but I don't know if the computer cares either way of if its just the sensor/pickup matching that matters.
Cam sensors work up to 02. As far as the 03+ ones, I'm not for sure. With the design on the cam, there is a chance that it won't work. But I am running the 00 cam sensor in my 3400 (different design) and my ECM picks it up just fine.
You can swap the bigger port intakes on, but you have to use both the new upper and lower. You can't mix and match the new and old intakes. Also, you'll need an adapter plate to mount your egr to the new manifolds.
Hey in the article doesnt it say they fixed that clearance problem on the year 2000+ model intakes, i thought you said that they already ground it down for better clearance?
Also where can i get that adapter plate for the EGR??
thanx
Well, I have heard that some people even had clearance issues with the manifolds that were already ground down. With that said, I would check the clearance no matter what before I started the engine. Believe me, you don't want to go through what I went through trying to get all the aluminum shavings out of the engine. Was not a fun experience.
As far as the EGR plate goes, that was something I made myself. I no longer have it. But there are some available, mainly on j-body and l-body forums. Some people around here might know how to get you one. Personally, I just run with mine blocked off...
