Not sure if this in the right place it doesn't seem like a real swap. If its wrong would a mod please move it for me?
I've read here a couple times and tried searching to find this answer but could not find anything addressing it directly.

My sister owns a 2000 GAGT R/A. It was flooded and hydrolocked due to the flooding we have had here in KS the past couple of months. I am looking to find a replacement engine for her.

I have found more 03-05 3.4 engines than the 99-02 ones. Of course the later ones average lower mileage. From my looking around on here I have a feeling the 03-05s are just revised an include the LIM revision and maybe some other small changes and will still work.

What are the differences and is there anything that will prevent it from being a simple swap?

Basically a direct swap except for maybe a couple of sensors.

The rocker arms are now 8mm instead of 10, but as a complete motor who cares. EGR is the same from 00+ so that isn't an issue either. It may have the second revision gasket for the lower intake but that still sucks compared to the metal gasket.
