  • Cross platform swap.

    Hello again.

Just wondering if there was a place on the site or anywhere that has the engine dimensions and other information. I have searched the site already.

The reason for me asking is that I have a Toyota Celica ST I have been waiting to turbo or swap. And with the cost of a swap (250WHP) or turbo (200WHP) I believe I could get a whole standalone unit and see if a 3.1 or 3.4 would fit in the engine bay.

A friend has swapped a whole V-6 out of a Toyota mini-van into his and had enough room. And the fact that these engines were also a cross breed with GM (GEO used the 7AFE and a three cylinder counterpart) and the narrow cross section leads me to believe that with some engineering this could be done.

Leading to a NA car that can put down 200+ WHP and still tip the scales at just over 2K.

Thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Didn't search very hard... :P Just kidding!

Not full dimensions, but it is at least a starting point.

16" wide by 18" long for the base block or am I cracking smoke.....

Tomorrow I will have to break out the tape and calipers.

Ideas about sizes (rough) with the accessories on? Or shall I set sail to the junkyard my self.

And lastly manual trannies? Sizes, and HP ratings.

Thank you very much for that information.
