To answer the lower heater hose questions YES it is 1/2" NPT any good parts store will have the fittings. If you have the push fit connectors and need to tap the hole you wont even have to drill, it is alread the right size for the tap. How sweet is that?

I have made an adapter for a 2000 manifold to adapt to a 1990 EGR system. I made it at school and as soon as it is on the manifold I will post some pictures.

Is the 90 egr the same as the 95 though? Seems like everyone says they're working on adapters for the 00+ manifolds, does anyone either sell one or have pics of one so I could make it? I haven't had much of a chance to think about how to make one yet, and I don't really wanna spend another $60 on an upper intake.

I will take pictures and post a small how to on it. I cannot tell you when because I am kinda tied up in the swap right now. Plus I am using a conventional camera so I gotta use the roll.

Well I ended up just buying an adapter plate from someone on beretta.net for $60. Seemed kinda expensive, but it keeps me from having to get both a cheaper adapter and the pre 00 manifold. Mounts the 95 egr right up to my 00+ manifold, uses the 95 pipe to the exhaust and the gaskets from both.

On another note, I'm just finishing stuff up, anybody know what size the torx screw on the throttle body is? I need to swap the parts over so I can use the one from the 3400. Thanks.

Well, the engine's in and the car runs, but it's pretty rough and I have yet to drive it. Things I'm wondering: I used the 2 crankshaft position sensors and the camshaft position sensor off the 3400. I simply extended the wires on the sensors so they'd plug in. I did this to avoid either buying new sensors or using the ones off my 3100 with 150k miles on them. I was already told above that the camshaft position sensor should be the same. I'm just wondering since the car is running so rough, should the 2 crankshaft position sensors work? Do they send the same signal as the 3100 sensors? I know the number of wires and the plug on these sensors were the same between the two. I guess I'm gonna try either buying new sensors or swapping the old 3100 ones one. If anybody could give me a definite answer before I try this though, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm also wondering if maybe it's just my plug wires, so I'm going to swap them off for a new set tonight. I used the 3400 ones which don't fit right anyways (so I found out after putting them on) Thanks for any help.

Did you check the crankshaft pulleys sensor? (the one right behind it, that reads the pulleys timing ring)

Well, define check. The sensor was there on the 3400 when I got it and I never removed it so it should be on there properly. (at least it looks like it is?) I simply spliced some extra wire into the harness to make it plug into the newer sensor. I just wondered if the sensors were in any way different besides the length of the wires on them?

Think they might be different... I changed the Pulley, and the sensor... It made the car run nicely after that. It would run so damn rough before... Perfect now!

Well, I found part of the problem. I had two of the plug wires switched at the coils (it was pretty damn late by the time I finished putting everything back together the other night). Now for some reason my temp gauge isn't working, so first thing I need to do is rewire that. Problem I have now is it's still pretty rough and noisy. Almost sounds like the exhaust is leaking at the manifold. I used the rear manifold gasket from the 3400 which looked to be in decent shape and the rear manifold from the 3100. The gasket should just be that metal plate with a metal gasket on each side of it right? Anyways, I was looking online today to see how much a new one would be and I can't even find it listed at advance auto or autozone. I'm not even sure that this is leaking, just sounds like it. I know I torqued everything to specs according to my gm manual. Also, I have a slight bit of smoke coming from the driverside back of the engine. I'm hoping this is just from the brake fluid that went everywhere when I put the new pads on with the resorvoir open. To top it all off, I haven't let the engine run for more than a few minutes at a time, yet it seems to be getting pretty warm. The intakes are still cool to the touch, yet the heads and coolant pipes feel pretty hot. All I can guess is that my thermostat is possibly bad? I used the 3400 one, and just pulled it out and put it back in when I pulled the lower intake to tap it for the coolant pipe. One last thing, I did put the car in gear, and when in reverse, it seems to make some sort of a clicking sound?!? It's fine in every other gear, just reverse makes this noise. I have really moved it much, just back and forth a few feet. Overall I think I'm gonna check the exhaust for leaks and maybe swap over my 3100 sensors to try to smooth things out. If anybody has ideas or suggestions to take care of any of this stuff, it'd be a great help. Thanks again.

The exhaust gaskets are compression type and really shouldn't be reused...

Well there's one thing I'll have to take care of. Any idea where I can get the gasket at? Guess I'll call around and see. Now that the engines in and it's probably a pain in the ass to change..how fun. Anybody else have any ideas on the other stuff I mentioned above?

I have the part number at home for a Fel-Pro set. And yeah, it'll be a PITA to change. But it could be worse... at least since you have barely run it, the nuts haven't had a chance to start to seize up yet, so that part should be relatively easy. Its just getting to them that sucks.
